Cardiothoracic Surgery
Officials with the Trinity Mother Frances Heart Institute announced William F. Turner, Jr., MD, and Neelan S. Doolabh, MD, have joined James A. Caccitolo, MD, of Trinity Clinic Cardiothoracic Surgery effective January 1, 2010. Drs. Caccitolo, Turner and Doolabh provide clinic evaluations for their patients through their Trinity Clinic offices and cardiac surgery and other procedures utilizing the extensive technology available through the Heart Institute, located on the campus of Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler.

"When Mother Frances Hospital started the first comprehensive cardiac program in the region in 1983, our focus was on evolving and improving heart care. In 2006, Dr. James Caccitolo helped bring the next level of cardiac medicine to our patients through the formation of Trinity Clinic Cardiothoracic Surgery. Caccitolo, MD, was one of the founding members of Trinity Clinic Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2006. He currently serves as the Section Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler. Dr. Caccitolo received his surgical training and completed a research Fellowship in Cardiac Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He came to Tyler after completing his cardiothoracic residency training at the Harvard School of Medicine Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.  About Dr. Doolabh View Dr. Neelan Doolabh Bio VideoNeelan S. Doolabh, MD, decided to become a cardiothoracic surgeon at age seven when he was living in Africa and first learned about famed South African cardiac surgeon Christiaan Barnard who pioneered the first heart transplant procedure. Dr. Doolabh performed the first minimally-invasive mitral heart valve surgery in Tyler and is a nationally recognized specialist in heart valve replacement and repair. Dr. Turner is a native of Tyler and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School.
