"Mothers" Loves Babies
For over 70 years Trinity Mother Frances has been known as the “baby” hospital of east Texas. With our annual number of births nearing 3,000 we are dedicated, as a faith-based organization, to helping ensure that every parent’s vision for their newborn – new life, new dreams, new hope – has the chance to be fulfilled.

In November 2008, through the generous support and involvement of the community, Trinity Mother Frances opened the first Level IIIA Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Tyler, Texas. Making it possible to offer the state-of-the-art technology, facilities and skilled staff required to provide compassionate, quality care to both healthy babies and those born too sick, too small or too soon.

State-of-the-Art Facility
The 18-bed, Level IIIA NICU was designed with our patients and their families in mind. We have a private consultation room, a Parent's Lounge for family and visitors, and our individual patient rooms provide your newborn(s) with the maximum level of comfort and privacy possible in a hospital setting.

Advanced Technology
We provide specialized medical care utilizing state-of-the-art respiratory technology, monitoring equipment, nutritional support and we incorporate the latest advancements in developmental care support to eliminate unnecessary stress levels for our patients.

Our Skilled Providers
Our highly-trained NICU team includes board certified Neonatologists, certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Occupational, Physical, Respiratory and Speech Therapists, Dietitians, Lactation Consultants, Social Workers, Pastoral care and other related medical providers. We work closely with your local physicians to deliver the continuity of care our patients need to grow and thrive.

Special Deliveries
Nearly 10% of all newborns require the medical expertise only available in a NICU.

When you're expecting, the unexpected can happen. We've planned for it. Have you? Our Level IIIA NICU is equipped to care for babies born as early as 28 weeks or weighing as little as 2.2 lbs., as well as full-term babies with breathing difficulties, infections and other health conditions.

For newborns meeting this criteria, the safest mode of transport to our NICU is directly from the Trinity Mother Frances Birth Center. By choosing to deliver at Trinity Mother Frances you can ensure that your newborn has immediate access to the medical expertise they need.

But, when situations arise and transport from another facility is necessary, our Neonatal Transport Team is available for the emergency ground transport of infants in need of the care we provide at the Trinity Mother Frances NICU.
